Relaxation Exercise Unit 2

The relaxation exercise worked well. I fell asleep. I think I got through most of it. I needed that. I have had very busy week at work. Roommate is gone this week so I have to tend all 7 cats myself. Decided to have company over tomorrow, Sunday, so that means I need to clean up a little. Oh ya, I have homework to do.

I do this to myself frequently. I don’t give myself time to relax and just be. That is one of the reasons I am taking this class. I need to take care of me. Now that I have had my power nap I am ready to tackle my class work. I will see if I feel more refreshed as I head into the rest of the day.

I had fed all the cats and went outside. It has been over 100’ all week and I wanted to get a few things done before it got too hot. I spent from 8-9 out there. By the time I came back in the cats were all curled up sleeping so I could do the relaxation exercise uninterrupted. It worked.

  2. I am so glad the relaxation exercise worked well for you. I need to experiment a little more to find what is right for me. I can relate to where you are coming from. I need to make time for "me" as well. Sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day. Work and school are hard enough. Then, add in ahousehold, family, kids, and all the other demands of life! I hope to gain some techniques from this class as well. If offered, I think I will take Professor Fouhy's class on stress management next term. Best of luck in class and thanks for sharing!

  3. You need to follow the cats lead, they knew enough to lay down and relax. Did you notice that they are not stressed. I can tell you from experience the last 18 months that you need some ME time everyday. We were never engineered to be the energizer bunny. We need the recharge, ok enough of the bantering. It was good to read you enjoyed the exercise, and it was a good one. The past three weeks I have attacked the me time and have really slowed myself down to were I am sleeping almost 6 hours at a time at night instead of 2 to 3 hours at a time. I have been fortunate enough the past three weekends to have had a wedding, a local festival and a neighboring town festival to go to the past weekends and my wife and I have had a great time. Relaxation does work. GOOD LUCK with yourself.

  4. I know that I really need to make time to relax as well. I think all students do. I can be quite difficult at times. With working 50-60 hours a week, working out, and homework who has any time? I treat myself once and a while and just do nothing occasionally. I think that my body wants to when I have been very busy. Keep up the good work.
